Sustainability + Efficiency

SUSTAINABLE CONSTRUCTION

What do we understand by sustainable construction?

The US Environmental Protection Agency defines sustainable construction as “the practice of creating constructions and using processes that respect the environment and are efficient in terms of resources throughout the entire life cycle of the building, from the selection of the location to the design, construction, operation, maintenance, renovation and demolition.

In short, sustainable construction tries to meet current needs, without compromising the natural resources of future generations. Sustainable construction implies the use of construction materials and processes that have a low environmental impact; and for this we must use materials that respect the environment, from non-polluting sources, natural, recycled and recyclable materials.

What is the importance of sustainable construction?

Sustainable construction manages to minimize the consumption of water, raw materials, energy, helps to carry out correct management of the soil, avoids the generation of waste and, in the event that it is generated, its correct management is guaranteed, minimizing emissions and respecting the environment, achieving a better quality of life. Construction generates ¼ of the planet’s solid waste and consumes 25% of the drinking water we have on our planet. Therefore, it is not surprising that the importance of sustainable construction becomes especially important for the conservation of our natural resources and preserve our environment.

EFFICIENT CONSTRUCTION

What do we understand by efficient construction?

Efficient construction is the one that improves the real benefit and reduces the current waste, through the improvement of design and execution processes. Efficient construction is the future of construction and the most beneficial in terms of efficiency and comfort.
